(OCEAN PINES, MD) – Ocean Pines Golf & Country Club – owned by the Ocean Pines Association and managed by Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – has embarked on a capital enhancements project to convert all greens on its 18-hole golf course to A1 Bentgrass.
Ocean Pines will re-turf the front nine this year and the back nine in spring 2013. This allows golfers to access at least nine holes of play at all times. In addition to resurfacing the greens, Ocean Pines is adding new drainage pipes and re-shaping bunker edges on the front nine. The entire project is slated for completion in late May 2013. In the interim, golfers will play the open nine twice to complete a full 18-hole round.

The Ocean Pines calendar includes a preview day for members on Thursday, May 31. Ocean Pines Resident Appreciation Weekend on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3 features reduced greens fees ($10 for nine, $20 for 18 holes) for residents and preview rates ($35 to $50, depending on tee time) for the general public.
