Camps exclusively designed for advanced players with collegiate aspirations
Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (May 31, 2012): The TOURAcademy recently reported higher than anticipated scheduled attendance of elite junior golfers from across the country as well as a significant influx of international junior golfers slated to attend its Pebble Beach Elite Player Golf Camps. Attendees hail from over 15 states and countries of origin include Switzerland, Japan, Senegal, China, and Canada. The elite camps, which are designed exclusively for advanced players with collegiate golf aspirations and a handicap of 10 or under, are scheduled to take place next month. The camps are open to both boys and girls ages 12-17 years of age.
“We are pleased to see the demand for our Pebble Beach Elite Player Camps exceed initial expectations. The spectrum of interest from junior golfers from around the world illustrates how global junior golf has become,” said Marc Haddad, SVP of Business Development, TOURAcademy. Pebble Beach joins the TOURAcademy’s three other elite camp locations at La Costa Resort & Spa, and TPC Sawgrass and the most recently added elite program at World Golf Village.
Camp curriculum includes emphasis on full swing mechanics using the most current launch monitor technology, short game drills, intense instruction with emphasis on biomechanics and strategies pertaining to the mental aspects of the game. Registered campers will receive club fittings, TPI physical assessments and physical training consultation as well.
The TOURAcademy Camps at Pebble Beach will be led by Jay Berkowitz, who is regarded as one of the top junior golf instructors in the country. Berkowitz had a successful junior career winning over 12 tournaments and secured spots on the Junior America’s Cup and Hogan Cup teams. He played Division One college golf at the University of California at Berkely where he also served as team captain, was a number one player, and was an “All-Pac 10 Team” athlete. Today, Berkowitz coaches an extensive number of junior golfers and as the founder of College Golf Match, he also assists those junior golfers and families who have collegiate golf aspirations.
“Jay is truly an expert in the cultivation of junior golf talent. We are incredibly pleased to have him lead our Pebble Beach camp and are certain each camper will experience world-class instruction which can’t be beat”, said Haddad.
Additional Pebble Beach programs offered include overnight camps for junior golfers who are of an intermediate level between the ages of 12-17. Nationwide TOURAcademy Junior Camps will also be offered at 30+ locations and include some of the most recognized and celebrated golf facilities in the country, such as TPC Scottsdale in Arizona, TPC San Antonio in Texas, Baylor University in Waco, Texas, Omni Interlocken in Denver, and Cantigny Golf in Chicago, IL.
