With new centers, new hires, and more students than ever, the biggest name in golf improvement is booming in Big D
Centennial, Colo. (June 5, 2012) – GolfTEC-the world leader in golf improvement-is opening two new high-tech improvement centers in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area this June.
All golfers want to shoot lower scores, hit the ball longer and straighter, and have more fun on the course. And now they can do just that, thanks to GolfTEC, which already has more than 160 improvement centers in North America, and has given more than 3,500,000 lessons since teeing off in 1995.
The two new stand-alone GolfTEC improvement centers are at Montgomery Plaza in Ft. Worth and next to Las Colinas in Irving. The official openings of both centers are scheduled for June 23.
Each center will feature three fully computerized and video-equipped hitting bays, all utilizing GolfTEC’s proprietary g-SWING software. Both will also have a state of the art club-fitting facility where golfers can be computer-fitted from thousands of options for their perfect match in woods, irons, and putters.
Working in the Las Colinas center, at 114 East John Carpenter Freeway, Irving, will be manager Rick Beck, who is moving over from GolfTEC’s current North Dallas location, where he’s been teaching for more than five years. Beck received GolfTEC’s award for Outstanding Achievement in Instruction in both 2010 and 2011. Joining him is Chad Powell, a native of the DFW area.
The Montgomery Plaza location, at 2600 West 7th Street, Ft. Worth, will be managed by Dallas native Paul Harrelson. Working with him will be PGA member Steven Storey, who is relocating from the existing GolfTEC center in Arlington.
These will be the sixth and seventh GolfTEC locations in the Metroplex. They join the Park Cities center on East Mockingbird Lane in Dallas, as well as GolfTEC centers within four Golfsmith stores-Arlington (1001 W. Interstate 20), North Dallas (1414 LBJ Freeway), North Richland Hills (8701 Airport Highway), and Plano (900 N. Central Expressway).
According to Erik Wait, GolfTEC’s Dallas Regional Manager and Director of Instruction, all local centers are seeing an increase in students. “People are coming back to golf instruction, coming back to work on their games,” Wait reports. “A lot of this growth is the result of our current students seeing great results and then telling their friends. For us, there’s nothing better than that.”
GolfTEC has been in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area since the first location, in North Dallas, opened in 1998. Since then, local centers have given more than 200,000 lessons. There will be many more to come: Thanks to the two new centers and new hires at all five existing centers, the staff of full-time coaches is growing from 13 to 19.
“Dallas-Ft. Worth is a great market for GolfTEC,” says Wait. “And we don’t see any reason for that to change.”
