IRVINE, CA – June 4, 2012 – FOURTEEN GOLF, the recognized leader in wedge design with now 43 worldwide professional tour victories since 2010, announced today that Chris Kamin played two FOURTEEN GOLF Wedges at the River Hills Country Club in Lake Wylie, SC and Palisades Country Club in Charlotte, NC to take home the 2012 River Hills Classic title.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “This is a monumental achievement for the company. We celebrate this accomplishment. We also congratulate Chris for keeping his composure during a very difficult last round and for becoming the River Hills Classic Champion.”
Kamin, who won the eGolf Professional Tour Grand Harbor Open last year, was a Nationwide Tour member in 2005, 2008, and 2010. This victory he hopes will carry over to Q-School where he can play his way onto the PGA Tour.
“We are thrilled to play a small part in this special victory as well as the other three that occurred during May,” added Kamoda.
This is the fourth victory recorded in May for FOURTEEN GOLF. Earlier in the month, a FOURTEEN GOLF wedge was played to win the Stadion Classic on the Nationwide Tour. The champion virtually holed out on 18 to win the tournament. In addition, the company enjoyed back-to-back wins at the co-sanctioned KPGA and One Asia events; SK Telecom Open and GS Caltex.
“All of these champions used a FOURTEEN GOLF wedge to perfectly position a sand shot on the green or to set up a birdie putt. The new RM-11 Wedge is played on many tours including; the PGA, Nationwide, and LPGA Tour. Its immediate acceptance by these touring professionals validated its performance characteristics associated with the enlarged grooves.
The larger grooves translate to maximum spin with exceptional control. The new USGA conforming FOURTEEN GOLF trapezoidal grooves have been enlarged by 15% as compared to its predecessor.
This increase in overall groove volume enhances spin retention particularly on partial shots and provides extraordinary control, incomparable spin and precision like accuracy.
To ensure optimal spin with precision and tighter tolerances, FOURTEEN GOLF mirror mills each larger groove on the RM-11 Wedge. This additional procedure takes an enormous amount of time but it is done to achieve and attain the highest spin performance possible.
The RM-11 Series of Wedges feature a different sole shape according to a specific loft. The 48-degree loft is designed for optimum performance and control with a full shot. Where the 56 and 58-degree lofts are engineered to employ or take advantage of the bounce with an approach shot. The 60-degree wedge is designed to assist with a high lob shot.
