Sanford, FL – RIFE Putters played a part in LPGA Tour history this past weekend at The Wegmans Championship held at The Locust Hill CC in Rochester, NY. It was the first time ever that a player from mainland China won on the LPGA Tour and she did it with her RIFE Mr. Beasley putter in hand.
She shot a 5-under-par 67, the lowest round of the week, in the final round of the LPGA’s second Major Championship to come from three shots back and finish at 6-under-par to capture a two stroke victory. She beat a number of former Major Champions and collected a first place check for $375,000.00.
Her scorecard was bogey-free on Sunday, with five birdies for the round, one of which came on the Par 5 – 17th Hole which in essence sealed the win and made her the seventh player in LPGA history to make the LPGA Championship their first Tour victory.
This victory is just the latest accomplishment in what has been an amazing year. She became the first player from China to win on the Ladies European Tour earlier this year and also captured a victory on the Japan LPGA Tour in May. This win moved her up from No. 10 to No. 5 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Amazingly, this is RIFE’s second Major Victory on the Professional Golf Tour’s in the past 30 days. Matt Kuchar and his RIFE Island Series Barbados putter captured an easy two stoke victory over the field at the flagship event for the PGA TOUR, The Players Championship, back on May 10th.
“It’s been a very exciting year for us,” said Jim Barfield, V.P. of Tour Operations for RIFE Putters. “To capture two victories at two Major Championships like this is pretty remarkable.”
About RIFE Putters
RIFE Putters, LLC is the true innovator behind horizontal grooved face putter technology with a patent on specifically sized grooves since 1997. These precisely spaced grooves allow the putter to gently press into the cover of the ball and grip and lift it into an instant forward roll. RIFE Putters states, “just as grooves in irons help control spin so do grooves in a putter face.” Other companies are now trying to imitate this patented technology but the spacing of the grooves is the true key to the gripping and lifting effect of grooved face putter technology. Horizontal RollGrooveTM faced putters create the truest “no skid” roll in golf no matter where you hit the ball on the putter face.
