(Londonderry, New Hampshire) Danish brand ECCO – maker of the world’s most comfortable, technically-advanced footwear – confirms that Staff Player Line Vedel wore its BIOM Golf shoes featuring patented Natural Motion technology while capturing the Ladies Slovak Open this past weekend at Golf Resort Tale in Brezno, Tále, Slovakia.
Throughout her first Ladies European Tour win, Vedel also showcased the ECCO logo on her headwear and shirt sleeve. The 23-year-old Dane finished with a three-round total of seven-under 209 for a two-shot victory that earned her a spot in the upcoming Evian Masters.
“I always knew I could play with the best, but doing it, that’s another factor,” said Vedel. “I felt the nerves on the last couple of holes but I managed to hang in there, so it feels great.”
Tied for the lead to start the final round, Vedel bogeyed the first and third holes before play was suspended due to thunder storms. Using that respite to regroup, she staged a stunning comeback by posting five birdies to finish with a 69.
“We’ve known Line for some time through her position on the Soenderjyske Eagles, the team of elite players based near company headquarters,” says Jesper Thuen, ECCO Global Marketing Manager – Golf. “She possesses tremendous talent and will no doubt use this victory as a springboard to even greater success.”
Embodying the innovative culture that helps define ECCO, BIOM Golf is the game’s first Natural Motion shoe. Created from decades of ECCO research into the human foot, its patented design is built around a completely anatomical last with flexible midsole arch support. This mirrors the foot skeleton, uses the body’s natural system for absorbing impact and brings players closer to the ground for unmatched feel, traction and stability.
