Children age 16 and under can play free and receive free golf lessons when accompanied by a paying adult

June 15, 2012, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – “Kids Play Free” throughout the 2012 calendar year at all of the 22 National Golf Management (NGM) courses in the Myrtle Beach, S.C., area, when accompanied by a paying adult. Youth age 16 and under can also take advantage of free golf lessons at the company’s affiliated Ritson-Sole Golf School at Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club and Grande Dunes Resort when joined by a paying adult.

“This is a great way for families to enjoy a round of golf together,” said Jim Woodring, executive vice president of marketing for NGM. “We believe in offering incentives that bring young golfers to the course because they are the future of this great game.”

Some weekday morning restrictions may apply, except at Aberdeen Country Club, Waterway Hills Golf Club and Wild Wing – Avocet Course, where kids play free at all times. To book a tee time or for more information, visit www.mbn.com or call toll free (866) 442-8417.

The family of courses under NGM management includes the 54-hole complex at Myrtle Beach National; Jack Nicklaus Signature designs at Pawleys Plantation and Long Bay Club; Pine Lakes Country Club, the first course in Myrtle Beach; and Grande Dunes Resort, the newest course within the portfolio.

About National Golf Management Company

The National Golf Management Company was formed in February 2012 with the merger of Burroughs and Chapin Golf Management (B&C) and Myrtle Beach National Company (MBN), making the new company one of the 15 largest golf course management companies in the United States. It is far and away the largest management company on the Grand Strand and one of the leading golf course companies in the Southeast. The merger brought together a total of 22 Myrtle Beach area golf courses.

Burroughs and Chapin Golf Management was formed in 1999, and its list of courses includes Myrtle Beach’s oldest course, Pine Lakes Country Club – the Myrtle Beach area’s first course (circa 1927). But the history of the company’s other interests, including real estate in and around Myrtle Beach, dates back more than 100 years. The lineage of the company is traced to F.G. Burroughs and Simeon B. Chapin.

Myrtle Beach National Company was formed in 1971 with the construction of the Arnold Palmer-designed 54-hole golf complex, which includes the West Course, SouthCreek and King’s North. Other courses of distinction include Long Bay Club, Pawleys Plantation and Willbrook Plantation.
