PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (June 20,2012)- GolfTalk Live host Tony Leodora caught up with professional golfer and golf course architect, Ben Crenshaw for an exclusive radio interview at Hidden Creek Golf Course in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey.
Hidden Creek Golf Course is one of Crenshaw’s many designs throughout the United States along with his partner Bill Coore. Celebrating the courses 10th anniversary this year, Crenshaw talks to Leodora about what it’s like coming back and playing the course after years of natural changes in the landscape.
Crenshaw also provides special reminiscence’s about playing in the 1971 and 1981 U.S. Opens at Merion and how mystified he was by the course.
“I had a pretty good dose of what I thought Merion might look like when I got there,” says Crenshaw. But until I laid an eyeball on it I couldn’t believe it, it was so beautiful and historic.”
Recalling other trips to the Philadelphia area, Crenshaw also talks about playing in the IVB classic at Whitemarsh Valley Country Club. He discusses what a great test of golf it was and the holes that still give him nightmares.
