Revamped chapter to host skills clinic from Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam,
golf outing at home of PGA Tour’s Arnold Palmer Invitational
(ORLANDO, FL) – The First Tee of Central Florida (TFTCF) will host an interactive golf ‘preview day’ on Friday, June 29 at storied Bay Hill Club & Lodge.
Highlights include a skills clinic with Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam that will be hosted by the Golf Channel’s Scott Walker. Annika will relay a few of her secrets to success on and off the course. She’ll also discuss The First Tee’s Nine Core Values along with their Nine Healthy Habits, of which she is the National Spokesperson.
The clinic will be followed by a round of golf for participating supporters at the home of the PGA TOUR’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. Mr. Palmer, a National Trustee of The First Tee, donated the course, food and facilities to support the day.
Schedule of events:
• 7:45-8:30 a.m. – Arrive, enjoy continental breakfast
• 8:30-9:30 a.m. – Interactive clinic with Annika hosted by Golf Channel’s Scott Walker
• 9:30-10:30 a.m. – Juniors to participate in The First Tee stations, which will include a Core Value and Healthy Habit
• 10:30 a.m. – Supporting foursome tee times begin
Golf Channel, a new national partner of The First Tee helped coordinate the day and will be on hand to cover the festivities. Other major benefactors of TFTCF include the ANNIKA Foundation and Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation.
“We’re looking forward to an exceptional day at Bay Hill,” says Annika. “The Central Florida chapter’s re-launch is a first step toward our goal of eventually making it a model for programs nationwide. This area is a hotbed for golf and our chapter should represent that.”
The event, which is open to media and the public, will help raise awareness of TFTCF’s revamped chapter and its mission to impact the lives of area youth. TFTCF is dedicated to providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

About The First Tee of Central Florida
The First Tee of Central Florida (TFTCF), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit youth development organization dedicated to providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. Children ages 7 to 17 can join TFTCF to learn the game of golf along with The First Tee Life Skills Program. TFTCF’s host facility is Hunters Creek Golf Club in Kissimmee.
