Waccamaw Golf Trail Partners With South Carolina’s Hammock Coast To Offer Chance To Win A Lowcountry Vacation

June 26, 2012, Georgetown, S.C. – A round of golf for four on any of the 12 courses along the Waccamaw Golf Trail is just one part of a fantastic stay-and-play grand prize being offered in promotion of the Hammock Coast of the South Carolina Lowcountry by the Georgetown County Tourism Management Commission The deadline for entries is July 13, 2012, and the drawing will take place soon thereafter.

The lucky winner will also receive a three-night stay for four at The Litchfield Inn, two complimentary dinners-for-four, tickets to one of the area’s top attractions and a sunset cruise out of Murrells Inlet. No purchase is required. Entries are being accepted at www.HammockCoastSC.com .

“This is a wonderful chance for new visitors to experience the best of the Hammock Coast of South Carolina,” said Sally Hogan, tourism manager for the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce. “The Lowcountry is a special place. The area welcomes millions of visitors each year and we know that once you visit, you’ll come back time and time again.”

The Hammock Coast includes Garden City Beach, historic Georgetown, Litchfield Beach, Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island. Pawleys Island is the country’s oldest seaside resort. And the city of Georgetown reportedly has more homes on the National Register of Historic Places than Williamsburg, Va.

The Waccamaw Golf Trail includes 12 resort courses located within a 16-mile stretch along the southern tier of the Grand Strand. The courses that comprise the Trail are Blackmoor Golf Club, Caledonia Golf and Fish Club, Heritage Club, Litchfield Country Club, Pawleys Plantation, River Club, TPC of Myrtle Beach, Tradition Club, True Blue Plantation, Wachesaw Plantation East, Wedgefield Plantation and Willbrook Plantation. All of the courses received at least an eight-point ranking out of a 10-point maximum for Golf Insider, a publication of National Golf Management.

The list of accolades for these courses includes GOLF Magazine’s “America’s Top 100,” Golf for Women’s “Top 25 in America,” six 4½-star courses and one of only three 5-star courses in the southeast as rated by Golf Digest. The Waccamaw Golf Trail is the designation assigned to the most southern region of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
