He captured the SCGA Amateur Championship at age 19 and led the 2003 UCLA Bruins to their first Pac-10 Men’s Golf Championship since 1985. He turned pro in 2004 and earned his PGA Tour card following a stellar 2006 on the Nationwide Tour. To date, Merrick’s 2012 season has been highlighted by a runner-up finish at the FedEx St. Jude Classic.
