DOWNINGTOWN, Pa. (June 28, 2012)- Applecross Country Club in Downingtown will host the annual “Golf for Warriors” tournament to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project (WWP) on July 30, 2012.
All proceeds from the tournament will go to benefit the WWP– an organization with programs intended to provide complete rehabilitative efforts to veterans and soldiers as they recover and transition back to civilian life.
The WWP Project began when several veterans and friends were moved by stories of the first wounded service members returning home from Afghanistan and Iraq, and took action to help those in need. The project has grown tremendously and now serves military service members all over the country who incurred service-connected injuries or illnesses on or after September 11, 2001.
Applecross CC, the Nicklaus-designed and recently named No. 18 Top New Private Clubs in America, will host this special event on July 30 with registration and lunch beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Talamore Family Club members will pay $100 and non-members will pay $175 to participate. The day includes golf, tee gift, prizes, lunch, beer and wine, snacks, refreshments, dinner and donation to WWP.
Aside from playing, there are other opportunities to give back and sponsor the event. Sponsorships start at $125 for a tee box sign and go up to $2,000 for a lunch sponsorship, which includes eight golfers, signage, and ability to place items in golfer giveaway bags. Those interested in attending dinner only can do so for $75, which includes dinner, beer and wine, a live auction and a donation.
