It took 75 holes for the tournament to be decided but in the end, the PGA Tour rookie from Ocala, FL claimed his first PGA Tour victory at the Greenbrier Classic. The 2-time Web.com winner finished the tournament 1st in Strokes Gained (2.016), 2nd in putts per GIR (1.635), and T3 in putts per round (27.0), all while using a SuperStroke UltraSlim. The UltraSlim, 1.0″ in diameter, is the smallest SuperStroke grip but still offers the patented, non-tapering technology. With this win, the 28-year-old rookie jumped from 173rd to 51st in the FedEx Cup race and earned a 2-year exemption on the PGA Tour.
“It was just a big relief,” the player said. “All the struggles the last few weeks, knowing that now I’ve got a couple years to try to improve on my game and win some more tournaments.”
On top of the victory, SuperStroke grips were also played by a T3 and the 6th place finisher, claiming 5 top 25 finishes in all. Finishing T3 for SuperStroke was the 2002 U.S. Junior Amateur Champion and University of New Mexico graduate. The Mesa, AZ native trusted his SuperStroke Slim Lite to earn his best finish on the PGA Tour.
With another $1.9 million earned in White Sulphur Springs, WV, SuperStroke Golf has now passed $20 million in PGA Tour earnings this season. Just another reason why SuperStroke has the #1 jumbo putter grips on the PGA Tour.
Total won in 2012 (to date): $20.1 Million
