According to Hugh Penton, President, the growing success of the My mini Golf putting line has developed growing interest in using the same type of fun learning experience for the other part of the short game, chipping. It has long been recognized by instructors and Golf Pros that chipping is a vital part of golf and needs to be learned at an early age. They see the fun aspect of My mini Golf, combined with professional instruction of chipping to be as important as learning good putting.
Now the two have been brought together into an affordable set called “The Short Game–Chipping”. A number of innovative items have been developed, together with five My mini Golf obstacles to give the program a well rounded learning and fun experience that will have the same dual purpose as putting is for My mini Golf. Juniors or seniors too can find the program to be both challenging and a great way to learn. A newly developed chipping pad comes with the set. It has both a section of short grass similar to the first cut around a green and a longer section, more like the length of grass further from the edge of the green. This gives the player the dual learning experience of both lengths of grass. That, along with two different kids irons, a kid’s wedge and a kid’s 6/7 iron are included along with a 25 inch chipping net. Also included are 2 each of yellow and orange balls and instruction booklet. Even the chipping matt is made with a non-slip backing so that practice on a slippery, wooden floor is no problem when played inside.
Being able to use the short game set inside in cold or rainy weather is a great advantage. Junior golfers, even without an instructor, can use the detailed instructions and photographs in the instruction booklet to learn the vital art of chipping and have fun doing it! Those enjoyable practice sessions will save them countless strokes when they are playing on the course. Learning to get “up and down” in two strokes is the hallmark of a very good golfer.
