Hands-On Product Testing, New Instruction Workshops, Social Golf Outing Combine for an Exciting Start to Industry Gathering
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The 2012 PGA Expo, Aug. 20-22 in Las Vegas, begins with an all-new Demo Night featuring product testing, instruction workshops, professional networking and a social golf outing at the Callaway Golf Center, just off the Las Vegas Strip, on Monday, Aug. 20. The PGA Expo Demo Night complements a full schedule of exhibits, main stage presentations, demonstrations, education seminars and professional networking events at the annual industry business gathering being held at The Venetian Resort Hotel Casino.
PGA Professionals, buyers and industry leaders attending the PGA Expo will have complimentary access to the event’s annual Demo Night where the newest equipment, training aids and accessories will be tested first hand at the Center’s two-tiered 113-stall lighted driving range, plus the putting and chipping greens from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. More than 40 manufacturers are making plans to participate including companies such as Avid Golf, Callaway Golf Company, Cobra Puma Golf, Edel Golf, Ernest Sports, Flightscope, Foresight Sports, H20 Overdrive, Innovations Golf, Mister Cool, PING, Polara, Pro Players Turf, Pukka Headwear, RealXGear, Scan 4 Beer, Tour Edge Golf, True Power, United Rentals and Yonex. Special demonstrations will be scheduled and PGA Professionals can earn three MSR credits for participating in the event.
Additionally, a social golf outing exclusively for PGA Expo attendees will be held during the event at the Center’s Divine Nine, a nine-hole lighted par-3 course. The Divine Nine outing includes the opportunity to test the latest equipment throughout the course, refreshments on the course, complimentary gift bag, contests, club rental (if needed), green fees and cart. Two new instruction workshops have been added to the event this year and will be offered prior to Demo Night, 4:00-6:00 p.m., under cover at the Callaway Golf Center. Eric Alpenfels, PGA director of the Pinehurst Golf Academy and golf instruction at Pinehurst Resort, will offer proven training techniques used to motivate, encourage and develop skills and participation of junior and women golfers in the workshops “The Players of Tomorrow” and “Connecting with Her.” Complimentary transportation will be provided to the workshops from The Venetian and complimentary beverages are included. Registration, limited to first 75 professionals, is $75 for both workshops, or $50.00 for attendees registering for a full PGA Expo Education Conference pass. United Rentals, the Official Equipment Rental Partner of The PGA of America, is the presenting sponsor of PGA Expo Demo Night. Pukka Headwear is the official hat sponsor of the event and will be providing a custom PGA Expo Demo Night cap to the first 1,000 attendees.
PGA Expo badges are required to utilize the complimentary shuttle buses from The Venetian to the Callaway Golf Center and for complimentary entry to the PGA Expo Demo Night. Separate registration is required for the instruction workshops and the Divine Nine Outing (available at www.pgaexpo.com). Parking is limited and the use of the complimentary bus shuttles is encouraged.

More than 250 golf companies and brands will present and demonstrate their latest merchandise in upscale, exhibit displays in the Venetian Ballroom on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and on Wednesday, Aug. 22, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Attendees can test equipment on the show floor at the expanded Golf Performance & Training Center; uncover the newest merchandise at the New Product Zone; and network with colleagues among displays of the latest golf fashion lines in the new attendee networking lounge. Each morning begins with a new keynote industry presentation and attendees can participate in a comprehensive education conference. Additionally, the popular PGA Expo Industry Reception will be held Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the Lagasse Stadium in the Palazzo Las Vegas Resort.
