NORTHBROOK, Ill – July 12, 2012 – KemperSports, a leading golf course management company, recently announced the appointment of Randy Morrison to General Manager of Heron Lakes Golf Course in Portland, Oreg. Heron Lakes, which first opened in 1971, features two 18-hole golf courses – the Great Blue Course and the Greenback Course, both designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr.
Morrison brings invaluable experience with him to his new General Manager position. A graduate of Oregon State University, he spent five years performing leadership roles in the food & beverage industry in New York and Oregon prior to accepting the role of Operations Manager at Heron Lakes in 2007.
“Randy has continued to demonstrate strong leadership abilities during his career with KemperSports,” said Steve Skinner, chief executive officer for KemperSports. “He is very customer focused and will be charged with continuing to improve the golf experience at Heron Lakes.”
Morrison will be responsible for leading the staff at a property which has received numerous awards from leading golf publications including a 4 Star rating by Golf Digest in their “Best Places to Play” list for 2008/2009 (Great Blue Course). Heron Lakes was also named to the Readers Choice Top 50 Public Golf courses list by GolfWorld Magazine.
