Softspikes/PrideSports Claims 66% of Plastic Cleat Field at John Deere Classic
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., July 17, 2012 … Softspikes®, the world’s best-selling golf cleat brand and maker of the #1 Cleat in Golf, proved that it was double trouble this weekend after being worn by the respective winners of the European Tour’s Aberdeen Scottish Open and the Web.com Tour’s Utah Championship. The brand also had an impressive showing at the John Deere Classic, claiming two-thirds of the plastic cleat field in Illinois. The leaderboard was packed with Softspikes/PrideSports at TPC Deere Run, with 22 of the top 30 finishers donning the brand.
Softspikes’ Cyclone cleat was clearly the player’s cleat of choice this weekend, being worn by the winner of the Utah Championship, along with two other players who tied for second. 67% of those wearing Softspikes at the John Deere Classic also relied on Cyclone, including the playoff runner-up. The cleat has remained a popular choice since debuting last year with more than 23 Tour wins already under its belt.
“We’re thrilled to see that Cyclone isn’t losing any steam.” said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. “It’s been increasingly popular since its debut in 2011, and it shows no signs of slowing down.”
Softspikes’ patented Dynamic Cleat Technology allows its cleats to be responsive to all terrains – Tee Boxes, Fairways, Roughs, Greens, etc – providing confidence on every swing of the club. In other words, longer drives, better iron shots and lower scores. For more information on Softspikes, please visit www.softspikes.com.
