‘The hottest shafts in golf’ wins wood; hybrid shaft counts on tour at 30 of 32 events
POWAY, Calif. – For the second straight year, Aldila’s leading high performance golf shaft technology has led to domination of the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the Open Championship. Led by their latest RIP Technology™, Aldila had 15 more wood shafts and 12 more hybrid shafts in play than their closest competitor at the Open Championship, according to the Darrell Survey.
Not only did Aldila win both shaft counts at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, but “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” also captured the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the PGA Tour’s True South Classic. According to the Darrell Survey, Aldila had 16 more wood and 5 more hybrid shafts in play than the next leading shaft manufacturer. With the double win Aldila continues to maintain their status as the #1 graphite shaft on Tour. So far this season, Aldila has won the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at 30 of 32 PGA Tour events.
Leading the way for Aldila is their latest addition to the RIP series, the Phenom. The RIP Phenom® integrates Aldila’s Tour proven RIP (Reverse Interlaminar Placement) Technology® with a unique shaft design to create a new and innovative flex profile for maximum distance and control known as the Hyperbolic Flex Zone. The new technology features a stiff tip section for optimal launch and spin control with a very firm butt section for an incredible stable feel, while the center section of the shaft is softer to provide unmatched kick through impact for maximum ball speed.
“The RIP Phenom integrates the same flex, torque and feel properties that have made the original RIP® the leading shaft on the PGA Tour, with a flex profile to achieve unparalleled performance and launch characteristics for better players,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager.
“The Hottest Shafts In Golf” recently incorporated their cutting edge RIP Technology into its prototype iron shafts. At the True South Classic six players had a full set of Aldila’s prototype RIP irons in play, which was up 5 from two weeks ago. Of the six players, one has finished in the top 10 five times since switching to the new prototype irons.
