SEATTLE (July 18, 2012) – A top-to-bottom offering for 2013 marks Cutter & Buck’s re-emergence in outerwear for the first time in five years. The top of the three tiers, Elite (which comes with a two-year guarantee) uses the highest level of breathable, waterproof fabric available in the marketplace. Cutter & Buck is the only company in the golf arena using this fabric in Spring 2013. The Performance tier is waterproof, windproof and breathable. The Active tier rounds out the collection and is ultra lightweight, water and wind resistance.
Elite — The Cocona WeatherTec Seaview Jacket boasts a waterproof rating of 20,000 mm, the highest ever for a garment unveiled by the company. The ultra-lightweight jacket, available in both short- and long-sleeve styles, is highly breathable, is fully taped and seam sealed, and features four-way stretch, odor management and 50+ UV protection. The high-caliber performance garment is typical of the Outerwear Collection, which has three tiers of product along with coordinated layering to equip the customer with a multi-tiered, multi-layered, high performance offering. The entire line aptly draws on Cutter & Buck’s “Genuine Spirit of the Pacific Northwest” brand identity.
“The ease of movement, breathability and waterproof nature of these extremely lightweight fabrics are a golfer’s dream,” said Jake Rawson, Global Director of Sales, Golf. “These technical fabrics and well coordinated multi-layered system allows for maximum performance and comfort.”
Performance – The Collection’s WeatherTec Adventure Full Zip and Vital Half Zip each will be available in two models. The Adventure Full Zip is Cutter & Buck’s take on a soft shell with fleece bonded to the inside providing warmth, augmented by a waterproof and windproof fabric that provides protection from the elements. The Vital Half Zip has a modern aesthetic, clean lines and a fresh take on color blocking and, too, is waterproof, windproof and breathable.
Active – The Camber Sail Full Zip and Wharf Plaid Half Sleeve are traditional, neat men’s patterns, styled with a technical edge that encourages active golf. Both styles offer ultra-lightweight water- and wind-resistant patterns, plus stretch-side panels for ease of movement.
Layering is a key aspect in the ’13 Outerwear Collection, with a well-coordinated, multi-layered approach for comfort and performance. The DryTec Montlake Half Zip Fleece is the perfect second layer for added warmth on the golf course. The DryTec L/S Hudson Bay Mock is a transitional piece that is ideal as a first or second layer. This comes in a high performing polyester/wool fabrication that offers ample wicking along with temperature regulation and breathability for comfort.
The outerwear palette boasts a vibrant, wearable color story that draws on strong trends in the outerwear market: Tomato Red, Hunter Green in a deep grayed hue that will serve as a neutral, Neon Yellow and Electric Blue. The palette is grounded in white and black, and responding to the popular trend of using grays, there are contrast panels in a mid-rich concrete grey, as well as full garments in stunning sleek silver or pale polished grey.
