Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – Mardell Wilkins, teaching professional at the Tijeras Creek Golf Club was recognized as one of the “Top 50 Women Teachers In The Country” in Golf Digest’s biennial ranking of the top women instructors in America. Published in the July 2012 issue of Golf Digest, this ranking is based purely on peer voting. Golf Digest sent nomination ballots to 1600 professionals including all female Class A PGA of America, LPGA Teaching and club professional members as well as the teachers on Golf Digest’s Best Teachers in Your State Ranking. Wilkins came in the ranking tied for 46th place. Mardell is no stranger to the award, as this is the second time in a row she was recognized as one of Golf Digest’s Top 50 women teaching professionals.
“Congratulations Mardell for being recognized with this tremendous honor and for your ongoing efforts at Tijeras Creek Golf Club,” stated Phil Green, Chief Operating Officer of OB Sports (management company of Tijeras Creek). “There are over 2,000 female teaching professionals in the country, so to be recognized in the top 50…by your peers nonetheless, is a tremendous honor.”
Wilkins was one of two affiliated OB Sports teaching professionals to be included on this Top 50 listing as Debbie Crews from ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona was also included in this prestigious ranking.
Wilkins offers individual private instruction, as well as junior instruction, playing instructional packages, semi-private golf lessons, and clinic opportunities at Tijeras Creek Golf Club.
