BELLINGHAM, Washington – Two weeks after capturing two Top 10s at the British Open, Aerotech Golf’s SteelFiber shafts netted more top money this week at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational.
Playing SteelFiber i95 shafts in his Bridgestone irons, the 12-year veteran shot a 66 in the final round for a T8 finish at the WGC-Bridgestone. He has earned more than $3.6 million on the PGA TOUR this year playing SteelFiber shafts. SteelFiber shafts strong showing already this year, follows a record-breaking performance for Aerotech in 2011, when the the shafts delivered two Top Three finishes in the 2011 PGA TOUR PlayOffs and were featured by two of the Top Eight pros in the final FedExCup standings.
“The composite technology of our SteelFiber shafts reduces vibration and minimizes player fatigue, while at the same time generating the consistency and stability normally associated with steel shafts. It’s a powerful performance combination, and we’re very excited to see its growing success on the PGA TOUR,” said Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary.
The No. 1 composite irons shafts on the PGA Tour in 2010 and 2011, SteelFiber shafts combine graphite and steel fiber to seamlessly create a perfect blend of power and stability. The shafts deliver extreme performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.
