Softspikes/PrideSports Claims 61% of the Plastic Cleat Field at the Reno Tahoe Open
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., August 7, 2012 … Softspikes®, the world’s best-selling golf cleat brand and maker of the #1 Cleat in Golf, took over the tours this weekend in an unprecedented way. Softspikes/PrideSports was worn by the respective winners of the PGA Tour, Web.com Tour and Champions Tour events, as well as the WGC Bridgestone Invitational. At the Reno Tahoe Open, 21 of the top 26 finishers donned Softspikes/ PrideSports, while at the Web.com Tour’s Cox Classic, 35 of the top 39 finishers sported the brand.
Softspikes’ PINS insert system finished in the top two at the Reno Tahoe Open, Cox Classic and WGC Bridgestone Invitational this weekend. Originally designed in 2009 for adidas’ Thintech outsole system, PINS is now found on Puma, Callaway and Oakley shoes, and is the fastest growing insert system in the marketplace. It reduces height and brings golfers closer to the ground, providing the immediate feedback required to develop a more consistent swing.
“This weekend was a showcase of our company’s products at its finest.” said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. “We’re happy to see players put their trust in our product and are confident that they will continue to do so.”
Softspikes’ patented Dynamic Cleat Technology allows its cleats to be responsive to all terrains – Tee Boxes, Fairways, Roughs, Greens, etc – providing confidence on every swing of the club. In other words, longer drives, better iron shots and lower scores. For more information on Softspikes, please visit www.softspikes.com.
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
