Hosted ‘World’s Largest Golf Outing’ on Aug. 12
(NASHPORT, Ohio) – Longaberger Golf Club, managed by Billy Casper Golf, has moved up one spot to No. 55 on GOLF Magazine’s biennial “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” in America list and has retained its top spot the No. 1 public course in Ohio.
Longaberger was also among only 16 courses in the Top 100 to be noted as a “Top Bargain” for its value-based rates for the average golfer. The list, revealed online last week and printed in the magazine’s September edition, reviews over 14,000 public courses nationwide on such criteria as course conditions and playability.

Longaberger Participated in World’s Largest Golf Outing on Sunday
On Sun., Aug. 12, Longaberger participated in the World’s Largest Golf Outing for the second time. Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – owner and operator of more than 130 golf courses, country clubs and resorts – hosted the second annual event in support of the Wounded Warrior ProjectTM (WWP).
Open to the public, a portion of the proceeds benefitted the WWP, the national nonpartisan organization that empowers and honors Wounded Warriors. The entry fee included a round of golf, cart rental, range balls, lunch, awards reception, on-course contests and prizes.
The event was held at over 100 BCG-managed courses in 24 states. The 2012 field reached well over 5,000 participants, and raised over $100,000 for WWP in advance donations. Last year, more than 2,200 golfers at 80 properties nationwide raised $43,700. The outing was open to golfers of all abilities and did not require a USGA handicap.
