“It was a great experience and the course was in excellent shape,” said recent independent post-play review for Blackmoor
Aug. 10, 2012, Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Blackmoor Golf Club reentered the monthly rankings for Myrtle Beach Golf Insider for the first time this year, but the top 16 courses remained unchanged in the August 2012 online edition. The top 25 was reported by www.mbgolfinsider.com
Blackmoor entered the rankings at No. 22. The Gary Player-designed course also took over as the most-rated course in the three-year history of Golf Insider online surveys, with 736 reviews. Caledonia Golf and Fish Club and The Dunes Golf and Beach Club continued to hold the top two spots, as they have done for all of 2012.
One of the recent reviews from an Illinois visitor was an indication of why Blackmoor improved its position.
“It was a great experience all around. The course was in excellent shape and it was an interesting layout with some interesting holes. The staff was very friendly and supportive every step of the way. I played great, too, and that always helps.”
Golfers are asked to use a 10-point scale to assess their experience in six categories: pro shop, grill, staff, fairways, tees and greens. The total number of reviews for each course is used as a tiebreaker.
“We have a golf course that accommodates all skill levels,” said Bob Zuercher, general manager at Blackmoor Golf Club. “The layout requires you to use a lot of different clubs and the course itself is in great shape. But more than that, I am proud of the way our staff really appreciates every customer and gives our customers a great experience. That makes a difference.”
The unbiased reviews are available to golfers before booking their tee times. The Myrtle Beach Golf Insider Top 25 represents a broad consensus of opinion based on thousands of golfer reviews. More than 15,000 independent reviews have been recorded since 2010, according to Jim Maggio, Golf Insider editor.
