RIP propels Aldila to back-to-back wood & hybrid shaft count wins at PGA Championship
POWAY, Calif. – For the second consecutive year, Aldila’s leading high performance golf shaft technology helped it capture the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at the PGA Championship to remain the #1 graphite shaft in play on Tour. Aldila has won both the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at three of the four major championships this year – the Masters, the Open Championship and the PGA Championship, according to the Darrell Survey. At the U.S. Open, Aldila tied for the most hybrid shafts in play.
“Knowing that the best players in the world have come to rely on Aldila as their preferred shaft of choice when competing at the highest levels is an honor and the ultimate demonstration of the superior performance of our shafts,” said Mike Rossi, Aldila’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing.
With more and more Tour players relying on the lower torque, increased tip stability and better tip stiffness control its Aldila’s RIP Technology™ (Reverse Interlaminar Placement), “The Hottest Shafts In Golf” finished with a combined total of 23 more wood shafts and 34 more hybrid shafts in play than their closest competitor at the season’s four major championships this year.
In addition to its success at the majors, Aldila has also dominated the wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts at 30 of the 33 other Tour events this season. That brings Aldila’s total to 33 of 36 events that it has won both wood and hybrid shaft manufacturer counts.
Aldila’s latest addition to RIP series is the Phenom®, which integrates Aldila’s Tour proven RIP Technology with a unique shaft design to create a new and innovative flex profile for maximum distance and control known as the Hyperbolic Flex Zone. The new technology features a stiff tip section for optimal launch and spin control with a very firm butt section for an incredible stable feel, while the center section of the shaft is softer to provide unmatched kick through impact for maximum ball speed.
“Through the use of a Hyperbolic Flex Zone, the RIP Phenom incorporates the same flex, torque and feel properties that have made the original RIP the leading shaft on the PGA Tour, with a flex profile to achieve unparalleled performance and launch characteristics for better players,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager.
