Flushing, Mich., August 13, 2012 – The second annual King Par Classic, which is hosted by King Par in Flushing, Michigan, is pleased to announce the charity golf tournament raised $59,000 for the Whaley Children’s Center. Over the past two years, the King Par Classic has raised more than $90,000 for the Center.
The King Par Classic was played June 25 on the prestigious Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc, Michigan. There were 160 golfers who played in the event and Detroit Red Wings announcer Mickey Redmond was the masters of ceremonies for the evening and live auction.
“The King Par family is thrilled with the success of the golf classic and we are especially pleased to know that our efforts will truly make a difference in the lives of these young children,” said Ryan Coffell, CFO, King Par. “We would like to thank all the participants, sponsors and companies who have helped make this event a huge success over the past two years.”
The Whaley Children’s Center was founded in 1926 and provides residential child care services to children 5 – 17 years old who have suffered chronic and profound abuse and neglect. Last year’s funds from the tournament allowed the Whaley Children’s Center to open up a fourth group home. To learn more about Whaley Children’s Center, visit www.whaleychildren.org.
