ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 15, 2012) – Golfweek, the most authentic, authoritative and independent voice in golf, today launched a complete redesign of its popular website Golfweek.com. Revamped to handle both the unprecedented growth of the last 18 months and the increasing demand for instant news, the new Golfweek.com now features enhanced navigation, immediate access to must-read exclusives and a renewed focus on keeping real-time content – from every level of the game – front and center.
“Golfweek.com is a golf news powerhouse and quite frankly, the old site couldn’t keep up with the sheer amount of content we put out,” said Nick Masuda, Golfweek’s director of digital content and innovation. “With the new site, we’re not just giving readers more of the in-depth golf news they love; we’re setting a new pace for the industry with our emphasis on complete up-to-the-minute coverage.”
One of the changes users will notice immediately is the addition of Golfweek’s “5 Things” module. Featured prominently on the home page, as well as along the top of each story page, this new unit focuses on delivering exactly what readers want: the day’s top stories in a fast, easily digestible format. This same “quick-hits” format also crosses over to Golfweek’s free mobile app with “5 Things Sunday,” which offers a Sunday-night rundown of the weekend’s biggest headlines delivered just moments after the final putt drops.
Additionally, Golfweek.com’s new standout feature The StatCaddie – a one-stop shop for pro, amateur, NCAA and junior scores – eliminates the need for golf fans to scour multiple Internet sites in search of tournament results. Building upon Golfweek’s popular in-book Scoreboard section, The StatCaddie offers a searchable archive of more than 10 years of tournament results, as well as an extensive library of custom player profiles that aggregate all of the Golfweek.com content surrounding that player.
Visit Golfweek.com to check out the newly redesigned site – including The StatCaddie and 5 Things features – and to connect directly to Golfweek’s free mobile app with 5 Things Sunday.
