SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (August 16, 2012) – Gateway Golf Group, the leading golf event management company and owners of the largest professional developmental golf tour on the west coast, Gateway Pro Tour, is pleased to announce that it will be title sponsor of the 2012 Phoenix Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament.
The annual golf tournament has become one of the premier charity golf tournaments in Arizona. Over the past thirteen years, the tournament has raised over $3.3 million in funding to support the outstanding medical care provided at the Hospital. Funds from the November 16, 2012 event at Troon North Golf Club will support initiatives to help fulfill the long-term needs of the patients and families served by Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
“We are pleased to be the title sponsor of the 2012 Phoenix Children’s Hospital Golf Tournament and are proud to support such a worthy cause,” said Ryan Pray, Executive Director of Gateway Golf Group. “Due to Gateway’s position as the premier developmental golf tour and our successful background in business and golf events, we are able to be an active partner as we fulfill our role of title sponsor.”
Gateway Golf Group will bring new and exciting entertainment to this year’s event. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with top-performing Gateway Pro Tour professionals at a morning golf clinic and during on-course fundraising activities such as “beat-the-pro” and “pro-for-hire”. In addition, Gateway will be providing 10 touring professionals to serve as caddies for some lucky foursomes. Gateway has enjoyed contributing to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in the past and looks forward to taking its charitable contribution to the next level through both the title sponsorship and ongoing efforts.
Gateway Golf Group will continue its support and fundraising efforts on behalf of Phoenix Children’s Hospital through a new Birdie Pledge Program which is set to launch in January of 2013, prior to the start of Gateway Pro Tour’s 12-tournament Winter Series. Individuals, corporations and organizations will have the opportunity to make a pledge for every birdie made by Gateway Pro Tour players during any of the 12 Winter Series events. 100% of all monies raised will go directly to Phoenix Children’s. Additional details will be released in the coming weeks on the Gateway Pro Tour website at www.gatewayprotour.com.
“We are looking forward to our most exciting golf tournament yet, and to a wonderful partnership with Gateway Golf Group,” said Steve Schnall, Phoenix Children’s Hospital Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer. “Gateway Golf Group will bring a new level of energy to this tournament. We commend them not only for their involvement, but for really investing in the lives of our patients and families that are helped through this annual event.”
