About Plymouth Country Club
Plymouth Country Club, a private member-owned club, was established in 1910. Its shining star is an 18-hole, par-69 championship course designed in 1920 by famed Scottish architect Donald Ross, who returned in 1929 to apply his finishing touches. The course sits on 200 rolling acres overlooking Cape Cod Bay, the Gurnet Lighthouse and Plymouth Harbor. This Ross masterpiece has hosted several notable amateur and professional tournaments over the years.
Ross designed the first three holes to be comparatively simple and non-punishing. However, four through nine are among the most challenging holes in the area, and the back nine was designed for a tournament finish, giving the edge to the golfer making skillful approach shots.
“Plymouth Country Club is a challenging course with greens that will make you pay attention,” said Carl W. Meier, president of the board 2012, Plymouth Country Club. We are new to the Boxgroove community and look forward to hosting members from other private clubs.
“Our members are also looking forward to playing some of the exceptional courses now available to them through Boxgroove.”
Plymouth Country Club is a member of the USGA, MGA and Donald Ross Society.
