ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2012) – GolfNow’s nationwide schedule of Power User conferences continues in September with events across Florida in Pensacola, Jacksonville, Tampa, Miami and West Palm Beach. The conferences are designed to help operators take advantage of existing and recently announced programs and services offered by GolfNow.
“A lot of our course partners still think of GolfNow as simply a tee time reservation service, but we’re also a technology and marketing partner,” said Paul Sampliner, senior director, training and products for GolfNow, golf’s largest online reservations and revenue management platform. “The Power User conferences are great opportunities for operators to learn about additional ways GolfNow can help them take charge of their tee sheet and market their course to new customers.”
The conference schedule includes events in Pensacola (Sept. 5), Jacksonville (Sept. 7), Tampa (Sept. 11), Miami (Sept. 12) and West Palm Beach (Sept. 13). For more information and to register, contact psampliner@golfchannel.com.
Sampliner said attendees also will learn more about new technology-based programs, including new booking engines for course websites, the GolfNow Central platform that supports the GolfNow.com online tee time reservation system and new e-mail tools to support targeted golfer messaging.
John Ferrebee, general manager of Hilton Head National, said the Power User conference he attended in Charleston introduced him to Deal Caddy, GolfNow’s new social commerce website, and gave him an opportunity to learn more about GolfNow’s new mobile application. “It was very informative to hear about all of the new bells and whistles GolfNow has,” he said. “We’re excited about being able to move more of our technology programs onto the GolfNow platform.”
Eric Hammond, general manager of Providence Club in Monroe, Ga., who attended his second conference in Atlanta, said the insights he gained regarding yield management will help him maximize revenues. “You need to squeeze every dime out of every tee time these days,” he said. “The conference emphasized that yield management is not about lowering prices, but finding the right price based on demand.”
Power User conferences are also opportunities to learn from other operators, according to Bill Layman, general manager of Crescent Pointe Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. “We’re always looking for ways to increase our play, and we learned a lot about what other people are doing with GolfNow,” he said. “It opened our eyes to the possibilities of using the system in different ways.”
