Hurley is a graduate of the Naval Academy and served in the U.S. Navy and was deployed to the Persian Gulf. Hurley turned professional in 2006 before fulfilling his commitment to the US Navy which he completed in 2009. His best finishes on the 2012 PGA TOUR have been 4th at the AT&T National and Hurley added an 8th place finish at the John Deere Classic
