SteelFiber Shafts Lock Up Second-Place At The Barclays

August 29, 2012

BELLINGHAM, Washington – The No. 1 composite iron shafts in golf, SteelFiber shafts are no stranger to Top Money on the PGA TOUR. Aerotech Golf announces that its SteelFiber iron shafts locked up second-place at The Barclays this week in Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Barclays is the 16th Top 10 for Aerotech shafts on the PGA TOUR in 2012.

Playing SteelFiber shafts in his Bridgestone irons, the Nashville native shot a 70-69-68-70 (6-under 277) that included 14 birdies and one eagle. His second-place finish at The Barclays also secured a current second-place in the FedExCup standings.

“We’re very excited to have another Top 10 finish this week. SteelFiber shafts continue to provide performance benefits on the PGA TOUR that are unlike any other shafts. The composite SteelFiber technology provides greater vibration dampening and reduces player fatigue similar to graphite shafts, while simultaneously giving the greater stability and consistency that is normally associated with steel shafts,” said Aerotech Golf President Chris Hilleary.

SteelFiber shafts provide the power of graphite and the stability of steel. The shafts deliver extreme performance through innovative composite engineering that combines a high-modulus graphite core with 59 miles of steel fiber lacing the shaft surface. While the shaft’s graphite core provides vibration dampening, increased clubhead speed and maximum distance, the steel fibers produce optimum weighting for a solid feel at impact and add stability and control for pinpoint accuracy. Originally developed for irons the SteelFiber technology now enhances the performance of hybrids, fairway woods and drivers.

SteelFiber shafts were the No. 1 composite irons shafts on the PGA Tour in 2010 and 2011. The innovative shafts also created a fervent buzz around the industry with two Top Three finishes in the 2011 PGA TOUR PlayOffs and with two of the Top Eight players in the final FedExCup standings.

Specializing in innovative composite technology, Aerotech Golf has supplied shafts to such renowned golf club manufactures as Titleist, Nike Golf, Bridgestone Golf, Cleveland Golf, Adams Golf, Miura, Srixon, Lynx, KZG, Nakashima, Bobby Jones, Scratch Golf, Zevo and Pure Spin among many others.
