Stafford, Va. – The Middle Atlantic PGA recently hosted its Senior Professional Championship. The top eight players from this event plus one exempt player earned their spots to play in the 2012 Southworth PGA Senior Professional National Championship (PNC) presented by Mercedes-Benz which will be held on October 11-14 at The Club at Creighton Farms and River Creek Club in Northern Virginia.
Tim White, PGA Head Professional at Lake Chesdin Golf Club in Chesterfield, Va. finished tied for sixth in the 2011 PGA Senior PNC which earned him an exemption into the 2012 National Tournament. White’s 2011 finish also earned him a chance to play in this year’s Senior PGA Championship.
Joining White at the National event on MAPGA home turf will be 2012 MAPGA Senior Professional Champion John Francisco of Piney Branch Golf and Country Club (Upperco, Md.); Steve Bosdosh of The Members Club at Four Streams (Beallsville, Md.); Jay Horton of Chester River Yacht & CC (Chestertown, Md.); Jon Corliss of Heron Ridge Golf Club (Virginia Beach, Va.); Dean Sumner of Quinton Oaks Golf Course (Callao, Va.); Bud Lintelman of Westpark Golf Club (Leesburg, Va.); Wayne DeFrancesco of Woodmont Country Club (Rockville, Md.); and Daniel Thore of Dick’s Sporting Goods (Danville, Va.).
In addition, four players were tied in the ninth spot and a sudden death playoff was conducted to determine alternates. The alternates by qualifying order include: Dennis Winters of River Run Golf Club (Berlin, Md.); Glenn McCloskey of Loudoun Golf and Country Club (Purcellville, Va.); Bob Bilbo of Manor Country Club (Rockville, Md.); and Harry Griffin of Glenwood Golf Club (Richmond, Va.).
