Portland, Ore. (September 6, 2012) – With more than 90 golf courses less than an hour away, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is among the world’s greatest and most prolific golf destinations.
Next week, five journalists from The A Position-the web’s leading golf-travel site- will tackle the “Grand Strand,” playing world-class courses, bedding down at top lodgings, and enjoying all the rewards of a fall golf trip along the Atlantic coastline. The warriors will take on such well-respected tracks as The Tradition Golf Club, Willbrook Plantation, Pawleys Plantation, Grande Dunes Resort Club, Pine Lakes, and Myrtle Beach National-all part of the impressive National Golf Management portfolio of courses.
Following golf and forays in dining and nightlife, the warriors will retire to their quarters at the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort and North Beach Plantation. They’ll also visit the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame and undergo club fittings at Grande Dunes.
Jeff Wallach, managing partner of Golf Media Network, which oversees the Golf Road Warriors program, says, “Myrtle Beach is the perfect location to test our mettle, and an obvious choice for the Golf Road Warriors. Sure we’re outnumbered-by about 300 golf holes per journalist-but it’s the kind of challenge we relish. We look forward to posting entertaining stories and videos of our exploits and adventures.”
Steve Mays, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for National Golf Management, is excited to have the warriors in town. “This is a great pairing of some of the world’s top golf journalists with possibly the best beachside golf destination on the planet,” Mays says. “We know their content will live up to the quality of our courses, although whether the quality of their play will achieve the same level of greatness we’ll have to wait and see.”
Celebrating Myrtle Beach’s “Prime Times” golf are renowned editor and writer Jim Frank; A Position Executive Editor Jeff Wallach; Bob Fagan, who has played more golf courses than any journalist living or dead; David Gould, author of several golf books; and videographer and writer Jamie McWilliams.
