87% of the top 35 finishers wear Softspikes/PrideSports
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., September 18, 2012 … Softspikes®, the world’s best-selling golf cleat brand and maker of the #1 Cleat in Golf, was worn by the winner of the Web.com Tour’s Albertsons Boise Open this weekend in Boise, Idaho. The rookie player trusted Softspikes’ Cyclone cleat and shot a tournament record 22- under total to win his first tour event as a professional. 34 of the top 35 finishers also sported Softspikes/PrideSports, with an overwhelming 87% of those who finished 35th or under donning the brand.
Of the top 35 finishers, 15 of them, including the winner and two of the four players who tied for second, chose Softspikes’ newest cleat, Cyclone. A tour player favorite, Cyclone Ice, a clear version of the Cyclone cleat, will be for sale in the aftermarket later this fall. The popular cleat is known for it’s advanced rotational design, which counteracts forces seen during impact.
“Cyclone’s impact on the plastic cleat market continues to impress.” said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. “We’re confident that Cyclone Ice’s release into the aftermarket this fall will only add to this effect.”
Softspikes’ patented Dynamic Cleat Technology allows its cleats to be responsive to all terrains – Tee Boxes, Fairways, Roughs, Greens, etc – providing confidence on every swing of the club. In other words, longer drives, better iron shots and lower scores. For more information on Softspikes, please visit www.softspikes.com.
PrideSports was formed in January 2003 following Pride Manufacturing Company’s purchase of Softspikes, Inc., and its sister company Trisport, Ltd. of England. This acquisition essentially formed the world’s premier golf accessories company, as Pride and Softspikes are the world’s leading golf tee and golf cleat lines, respectively. Today, PrideSports is the world leader in the design and manufacture of cleats, spikes and receptacles for the entire golf footwear industry.
