BALTIMORE, MD. – September 18, 2012 – STX Golf, world-renowned as an industry pioneer in putter innovation with its patented Soft Face Insert Technology, announced today that their top selling STX Sync 5 Putter (SS5) was played last weekend at the Web.com Albertsons Boise Open presented by Kraft to tie for tenth place.
According to STX Director of Golf Steve Henneman, “The last day of the Boise Open the wind and sun made the greens really firm. The SS5 with black face helped a veteran Web.com Tour player control his ball speed and ball path which helped him tie for tenth place. We congratulate him on his third Top-10 finish of the season.”
Each model in the Sync Series Blade Collection features STX and its Soft Insert Technology called “F.E.E.L.” – Friction Enhancing Elastomer Layer. This patented STX technology dramatically increases the coefficient of friction to put a greater amount of topspin on the ball and keep your putts on line. The Soft Face Insert Keeps the ball in contact with the putter longer to also provide superior directional control, decreased ball skid and reduced ball deformation.
The black insert in the SS5 Putter was used to shoot a 67, 69, 65, and a 68 at the Boise Open. It is the softest in the STX line. It delivers the highest friction and resilience rate with increased dwell time. Those characteristics are chemically formulated to get the ball rolling sooner and keeps all putts on line.
“This Web.com professional played the SS5 because he could manage the quick greens of Hillcrest but he also likes its classic appearance,” added Henneman.
The SS5 features a flare neck hosel that seamlessly connects the head and shaft. This traditionally styled and inspired blade has been designed to slightly keep the hands forward during the stroke. As with the other Sync Series blade putters, the SS5 is toe weighted for those golfers who have a more arching style of stroke.
The Sync Series including the SS5 Putter is available at retail. To find a STX dealer in your area visit the STX website at www.stxgolf.com.
