September 25, 2012 – Birmingham, Ala. – Cherokee Ridge, a master planned community in Union Grove, Ala., has selected Honours Golf Company to provide club management and membership marketing services for its Cherokee Ridge Country Club.
Cherokee Ridge is conveniently located near the Heart of Dixie Highway/State Highway 231, 11 miles south of Huntsville. Its approximately 160 property owners enjoy a full range of amenities at the private club, including an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool and a fitness center. Members and visiting golfers can enjoy lunch and other refreshments at The Grill, and out-of-town visitors can stay overnight at the Lake House, a seven-room Cape Cod-inspired retreat with meeting facilities.
Opened in 1992, the 18-hole, 6,574-yard golf course is nestled in the rolling Appalachian foothills in northeast Alabama. Designed by Sammy Dean, the scenic course features a tree-lined layout with narrow Bermuda fairways and large undulating Bentgrass greens. Golfers navigate around a 17-acre lake on the front nine, while the back nine twists through a forest of pines and hardwoods, with three holes offering a view of an 80-foot waterfall cascading into Lynn’s Creek. Course amenities include 30-tee driving range, two putting greens, a practice bunker, as well as a fully stocked pro shop.
Cherokee Ridge has operated the past twenty years as a private club. Effective October 1, 2012, the Club will operate as a semi-private club offering outside play along with affordable memberships.
