IRVINE, CA – September 26, 2012 – FOURTEEN GOLF, the recognized leader in wedge design with 46 worldwide professional tour victories since 2010, proudly announced that FOURTEEN GOLF and its high performance golf equipment will be represented at the upcoming 2012 Ryder Cup Matches at Medinah Country Club.
According to FOURTEEN GOLF COO Marcy Kamoda, “It is with great pride we make this announcement. The 2010 Ryder Cup was the first time we had our equipment played at these global matches and it marked a serious milestone for the company. Now two years later, we’re thrilled that the most consistent golfer on the USA Team will be playing our equipment. This is momentous.”
The 39th Ryder Cup will be held on the legendary golf courses of Medinah Country Club. Both teams will be challenged with distance, water, and over hanging Medinah trees. The recent redesign emphasizes is risk and reward.
“We foresee our utility irons being used to conquer holes where risk does provide a payoff. The #5 hole is a perfect example. It is a short par 5 where the players can get home in two and set themself up for an eagle putt. Our utility irons provides pinpoint precision and will get the ball tight to the pin,” adds Kamoda.
The FOURTEEN GOLF tour specific utility irons played last week at the WNB Golf Classic for two Top-10 finishes and this week at the Ryder Cup guarantee that the accomplished player or golf professional will reach their intended target.
Their uniquely shaped hollow structure produces the distance of a fairway wood with the accuracy of an iron. They look easy to hit and in fact they are. The meticulous research the FOURTEEN GOLF engineers conducted on the club head’s shape and positioning of the CG resulted in a utility iron that is controllable as well as stable. The deeper and lower CG allows the skilled golfer to select the smallest of targets and get it there with precision.
“We heard the conditions of the greens will be difficult due to a drought so we foresee our utility irons also being used to control and hold the quick greens,” added Kamoda.
The FOURTEEN GOLF PGA Tour department headed up by Rusty Estes has worked weekly on the PGA Tour and his efforts combined with the company’s award winning equipment are credited with this second Ryder Cup appearance.
FOURTEEN GOLF is a burgeoning golf equipment company that takes great pride in their tour program which includes FOURTEEN GOLF tour staff and non-tour staff professionals.
This year FOURTEEN GOLF officially signed Japanese golfing prodigy and PGA Professional Ryuji Imada to a three year endorsement deal which includes a staff bag, head covers, hat, umbrella and wedges. He joins FOURTEEN GOLF team members PGA Professionals Chad Collins and Arjun Atwal.
