HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. (Oct. 2, 2012) – The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club has appointed Ian Gillule as Membership Development Manager.

Bringing more than a decade of experience in club membership management to Saint Andrew’s, Gillule, 46, most recently handled membership sales and marketing for Trump National Golf Club, Westchester, in Briarcliff Manor, N.Y., and Trump International Golf Club, West Palm Beach, in Fla., starting in 2006.

Prior to his assignments for the Trump Organization, Gillule gained two year’s experience with private club memberships at Branton Woods Golf Club, Hopewell Junction, NY and Hollow Brook Golf Club, Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. He started in the golf industry in 2000 as Director of Membership Services for the Metropolitan Golf Association.

A native New Yorker, Gillule is a 1995 graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas College, with a degree in Sports Management. Prior to entering the golf industry, Gillule was head baseball coach and Director of Intramural Athletics at Ramapo College, an NCAA Division III school in Mahwah, N.J.

As the oldest golf club in the United States (established in 1888) and a founding member of the United States Golf Association, The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club is rich in history and tradition. Members of The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club are cognizant of their stewardship of the club’s place in golf history, and the significant role that Saint Andrew’s has played in fostering the birth and growth of golf in the United States.

The par 71 at Saint Andrew’s is a combination of classic golf course architecture, breathtaking views from dramatic elevation changes and impeccable conditioning. In 1983, Jack Nicklaus directed a restoration project to ensure Saint Andrew’s maintains its rightful place among the most respected golf courses in the game. Members enjoy access to the golf course throughout the week without tee times.

Besides the golf course, the remarkable Stanford White-designed clubhouse reflects the membership’s dedication to the preservation of that history. Filled with priceless memorabilia from the club’s past, a walk through the front doors is like entering a golf museum.

Today, members and their guests enjoy gathering in the John Reid Room, where on display is Reid’s original Red Jacket, which continues to serve as The Saint Andrew’s Golf Club’s Coat of Arms.
