Only Caribbean resort named to both lists, honors come on top of other leading travel awards
La Romana, Dominican Republic (Oct. 2, 2012)… Casa de Campo-the first great resort in the Caribbean-has been recognized by the readers of Andrew Harper’s travel newsletter as one of the top 20 family and top 20 golf resorts in the world.
The annual awards are from the readers of Harper’s Hideaway Report and website, knowledgeable travelers who vacation on average 35 days a year, with 12 percent traveling more than 65 days a year. These are discriminating adventurers who travel the globe in search of the very best.
Casa de Campo is the only property in the Caribbean to appear on both the top family and top golf resort lists.
And these are not the only honors recently bestowed on Casa de Campo, which is located along the southern coast of the Dominican Republic along the Caribbean Sea. Last week, the resort received four major awards from the Caribbean and Americas 2012 World Travel Awards:
• Caribbean’s Leading Golf Resort (seven-time recipient; fifth consecutive year)
• Dominican Republic’s Leading Golf Resort (ninth consecutive year)
• Dominican Republic’s Leading Hotel (five-time recipient)
• Dominican Republic’s Leading Resort (eight-time consecutive recipient)
Getting to Casa de Campo has never been easier thanks to the recent opening of the Coral Highway. The all-new road puts Casa de Campo just 45 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. That gives visitors another fast way in, along with La Romana International Airport (5 minutes away) and Santo Domingo Airport (one hour away).
Casa de Campo is easy to get to, but as smart travelers and others can attest, difficult to leave.
