41st Annual National Shrimp Festival, Oct. 11-14
Gulf Shores will host the 41st Annual National Shrimp Festival, Oct. 11-14. The festival is free to attend and attracts more than 250,000 people each year.
In addition to plenty of shrimp and other seafood, the National Shrimp Festival also boasts more than 300 vendors, arts and crafts, live music and children’s activities. Two musical stages will provide continuous entertainment with national recording artists Eddie Money, Phil Vassar and other local favorites.
Other events include the 10K/5K Shrimp Festival Run/Walk, with all net proceeds benefiting the local Gulf Shores and Orange Beach public schools, and a sand sculpture contest with a $100 cash prize for the “family” category.

7th Annual Arnie’s Army Golf Tournament at Craft Farms, Oct. 20
Craft Farms Golf Club, the 36-hole, Arnold Palmer Signature facility in Gulf Shores, will welcome the Cotton Creek Men’s Golf Association for its 7th Annual Arnie’s Army Golf Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 12:30 p.m. There will also be a live and silent auction on Oct. 19 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Over the last seven years the event has generated more than $30,000 in donations for the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
