Softspikes/PrideSports claims 66% of the plastic cleat field at The McGladrey’s Classic
BRENTWOOD, Tenn., October 23, 2012 … Softspikes®, the world’s best-selling golf cleat brand and maker of the #1 Cleat in Golf, put a chill in the air on the PGA and Web.com tours this weekend, winning both events, respectively. Softspikes’ Cyclone Ice was worn by the winner and third place finisher at the Web.com Tour’s Winn Dixie Open, and also tied for fourth at the PGA Tour’s McGladrey’s Classic. Softspikes/ PrideSports claimed an overwhelming two-thirds of the plastic cleat field at McGladrey’s, with 27 of the top 27 finishers (excluding ties) relying on the brand. Meanwhile, 36 of the top 37 finishers at the Winn Dixie open donned brand, with 9 of the top 15 choosing Cyclone or Cyclone Ice.
Cyclone Ice has quickly become Tour players new favorite cleat, a welcome updated version of the successful Cyclone cleat. The cleat model has more than 24 Tour wins under it’s belt since being introduced to the cleat market just last year.
“We’ve had a great response to Cyclone Ice from amateurs and professionals alike.” said John Hohman, Vice President of Marketing, PrideSports. “The updated clear material is new to them, while they’re still getting the traction and comfort that they’ve come to expect with Softspikes/PrideSports.”
Softspikes’ patented Dynamic Cleat Technology allows its cleats to be responsive to all terrains – Tee Boxes, Fairways, Roughs, Greens, etc – providing confidence on every swing of the club. In other words, longer drives, better iron shots and lower scores. For more information on Softspikes, please visit www.softspikes.com.
