Geoff Mangum of the PuttingZone Community of 152 Certified Coaches in 20 Countries announces the release of his most recent DVD, entitled “Reading Greens and Making Putts with Geoff Mangum.”

This new DVD, filmed at the exclusive Westin La Paloma Golf Resort in Tucson, Arizona, explains and demonstrates how the skill of touch or distance and pace control is the foundation for reading putts accurately; how the perceptions of fall line, green speed, and slope steepness or grade require know-how and accurate attention to specific cues about the green; how to use general patterns and “ballpark” knowledge of break sizes and patterns to narrow the focus down to the final adjustments of read and aim; three overlapping techniques to see the break curve and start line accurately for the final “firing solution”; and how to handle special problem reads.

The DVD also explains accurate aiming skill and key setup and movement techniques for a stroke that uses the body’s biomechanics to simplify the stroke, so that it sends the ball exactly where the reading and aiming requires.

Produced by top sports video producers SportVideos.com, the Mangum DVD has a runtime of 142 minutes and covers this vital aspect of putting in an organized progression of seven chapters:

Touch,

Green Surface,

General Reading,

Specific Reading,

Stroke and Aim,

Lag Putting,

Difficult Putts.

The DVD is marketed and sold exclusively on the SportVideos.com website, and is currently offered at an introductory price.

Geoff Mangum said, “This DVD integrates all four skills of Touch, Reading, Aiming, and Stroking, with special emphasis on reading greens and putts. Touch is the foundation for accurately predicting how the read will work out when executing the stroke with the same touch. So teaching reading putts without integrating the perceptions with touch perception and execution skill makes zero sense, but lots of folks teach reading putts without teaching how the touch works. The really important sub-skills for reading putts are perceptions skills for seeing what matters about the green integrated with the skill for touch. Great golfers sort out touch first and then read with that one delivery pace. One speed, one read to perceive; and then one read, one speed to execute the stroke with — the same speed used for the initial reading or predicting how the ball’s speed interacts with the surface contour and green speed. This DVD gives you everything you need to build real and permanent skill for reading putts.”
