Port Washington, WI (October 23, 2012) – The Allen Edmonds Corporation, the leading American-based manufacturer of premium men’s footwear and accessories, is enhancing its Honors Collection golf shoes and expanding its Clubhouse Collection of casual shoes as well as its lineup of belts and performance socks.
The Honors Collection shoes now feature Allen Edmonds new proprietary Spikeless Versatility sole (SLV), a light weight and hard-wearing sole featuring multiple traction studs for a sturdier grip. The SLV is in addition to the Honors Collections’ classic, 11-spiked shoe.
“The SLV shoes are the first, and only, spikeless golf shoe made in USA,” says Colin Hall, CMO for Allen Edmonds. “Now, golfers have the option of wearing gorgeous golf shoes featuring classic spikes or the spikeless sole that reflects a current trend in golf. Both styles are also available for our Recrafting® service.The SLV sole makes an Honors Collection shoe perfectly suitable for all environments including play, teaching and the clubhouse.”
The shoes featuring the SLV sole are available for order on October 15 with a price of $295 and spiked shoes are priced at $345.
The Clubhouse Collection shoes were hand-picked to provide gentlemen a range of off-course styles to complement their ever-changing needs.
“From slip-on styles to casual boat shoes or driving moccasins, the Collection offers stylish shoes to wear around the club, work or in more casual environments,” Hall says. “We are getting positive feedback from our green grass customers about this expanded offering of golf and casual shoes and how it’s bringing a new and sustainable revenue stream into their shops.”
There are eight new shoes in the Clubhouse Collection, many of which can be recrafted in the legendary Allen Edmonds process highlighted by:
• Chukkamok – sports a classic Chukka boot silhouette and is part of the new line of unconstructed footwear offering the more comfortable fit from an unlined shoe, and allowing the leather to hug your foot. More fashion-forward than many boots in this genre, this model features a long wingtip, perking and pinking, and a toe medallion. The more classic elements are balanced with added contrast midsoles and Vibram® red rubber soles.
• Patriot- a made in the USA penny loafer and a faithful interpretation of this timeless design, the Patriot honors our legacy of craftsmanship and classic American style. The shoe is improved with a brand new last – the 606 – making them roomier in the forefoot but also featuring Allen Edmonds’ trademark narrow heel. The consummate country club shoe, the Patriot is sure to become our next Ameri can classic.
• Sedona — a celebration of a leisure lifestyle, the uniquely versatile Sedona is offered in an unlined upper of your choice. It is available in five vibrant colors and two, two-toned distressed styles. It combines the classic look of the American penny loafers with distressed rough leathers and a new, lightweight box sole.
• Duke — a hand sewn, beefroll penny slip-on handcrafted with actual brown football pebble grain calfskin with a Vibram mini-lug sole to create the perfect weekend shoe.
The new belts in the Allen Edmonds line are made in the U.S.A. of the same great leathers as our shoes. Many of the belts are made to complement the Honors Collection or Clubhouse Collection. New belts in the line include:
• Cottonwood– a vibrant, colorful belt pairing perfectly with Allen Edmonds’ newSedona. Available in red, navy, black and tan distressed leathers; the Cottonwood belt is the ideal pick to pair with your shorts, khakis or jeans at the pool, dock or club.
• Spectator– its two-tone design is the perfect mate for the classic spectator or two-tone golf style. With perfed detailing and premium leather, the Spectator Belt is just the thing for the man looking for something different but has the substance to stand the test of time. Available in three styles – black and white, brown and white and walnut and white.
• Blackfoot- herringbone is a traditional design that lends itself to fine tailoring. But embossing it in leather opens up new possibilities. The classic nickel buckle and clean look gives this belt just the right amount of attitude so that it can be paired with our strong Rough Collection shoes and boots.
The newest addition to the Allen Edmonds sock line are the casual socks that incorporate 2 in 1 technology that combines a skillfully knit inner liner made of moisture repelling Olefin with a breathable outer sock made of stretch nylon with soft Merino wool or cotton.
The socks’ SmartSilver™ permanent anti-microbial treatment protects the wool from odor and harmful bacteria. Elasticized arch and instep keep socks and the breathable mesh air vent keeps toes dry.The virtually seamless toe design eliminates irritation while the Signature toe helps position socks on foot.
