CARLSBAD, Calif. (November 12, 2012) – Nippon Shaft won the final PGA TOUR event of the season Sunday (Nov. 11), recording a final round 3-under par 69 to seal a two-stroke victory at the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic.
It was the third PGA TOUR victory of the year for Nippon Shaft in addition to the Sony Open and the Wyndham Championship. The company also has won this year on the Champions Tour, LPGA Tour, European PGA Tour and others.
Sunday’s 28-year-old winner used Nippon Shaft’s N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 130 prototype steel shafts in his irons to shoot 16-under on rounds of 68-64-71-69 at the Magnolia GC at the Disney Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
Two other Nippon Shaft players finished in the top 20 at Disney. The Zimbabwe native used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 prototype ORA steel shafts in his irons while the Swede used the N.S. PRO MODUS3 Tour 120s in his irons. Both finished at 9-under par for the tournament.
“Nippon Shaft is very excited for the winner of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Classic,” said Hiro Fukuda, head of sales and marketing for Nippon Shaft. “We also congratulate the other two players who used Nippon Shaft and finished in the top 20 on Sunday. Both have had excellent seasons.”
