European Young Gun Wins Barclays Singapore Open With Project X

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Project X shafts, designed and manufactured by True Temper Sports, delivered a marathon win this weekend at the Barclays Singapore Open on the European Tour.

Playing Project PXi in his irons and Project X Black in his hybrid club, the Italian young gun eagled the third play-off hole to capture the Barclays Singapore Open and to become the first teenager ever to win three European Tour events.

The 19-year-old champion became the European Tour’s youngest winner two years ago when he won the 2010 Castello Masters and then he claimed a second title at the 2011 Maybank Malaysian Open. This weekend marked his third victory in his 70th European Tour event.

“Both Project PXi and Project X Black were launched this year and they quickly emerged as a true force on the pro tours,” says Chad Hall, director of product marketing and global tour operations for True Temper Sports. “By utilizing new lightweight materials and revolutionary low torsional designs, we’ve been able to create a whole new generation of high-performance shafts that deliver maximum clubhead speed with the shot control demanded by the best players in the world.”

About Project PXi Iron Shafts

Project PXi maintains the same launch trajectory and same spin rates that have made Project X a favorite on the pro tours. Project X engineers modified the design to soften the feel in the hands for the shorter irons and stiffen the longer shafts within a set. This is a high-powered combination that produces greater distance and improved feel beyond anything in the game today.

About Project X Black Shafts

At the heart of Project X Black is a revolutionary carbon weave material, TeXtreme, to create Dual Torsional Control, the new stabilization technology. With the use of TeXtreme, Project X engineers can eliminate weight while maintaining the low torque, low spin properties that established Project X as the standard for all high-performance composite shafts.
