YONEX Tour Professional Ryo Ishikawa, shot a final round 4-under par 68 to claim a one shot victory over Michio Matsumura at the Japan Golf Tour’s Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Masters becoming the youngest player in JGTO history to reach the 10 career victory mark at the age of 21 years, 4 months and 24 days.
Ryo Ishikawa made his return to the winners circle by firing rounds of 67 (-5), 69 (-3), 69 (-3), 68 (-4) for a total score of 15-under 273. Ishikawa now sits at 8th place on the JGTO’s 2012 Money List with three events remaining.
“It (Taiheiyo Masters victory) changes the way I perceive everything,” said an emotional Ishikawa. “A victory is the best medicine. It’s a medicine that gives me confidence. I can go to the United States with confidence,” he added.
On Monday November 12th, the PGA Tour announced the final standings in the 2012 PGA Tour Money list. By virtue of his 108th finish in the Money List, Ryo has secured a 2013 PGA Tour card and will be playing on the PGA Tour full-time in 2013.
