TEMPE, ARIZ., November 30, 2012 – Dixon Golf, manufacturers of the first family of high performance eco-friendly golf balls, will sponsor all 18 Mustache Open golf tournaments in the United States during the upcoming golf season.
The Mustache Open was started in Nebraska in 1999 as a two man scramble with 80 participants. Prizes were given for best and worst mustaches. Today, the Mustache Open holds 20 tournaments in the US, Canada and Mexico. Dixon Golf will hold the Dixon Challenge at all the Mustache Open’s events in the US.
“The Mustache Open is proud to work with such a cutting-edge company as Dixon Golf. The mustachioed man is, at his heart, concerned with both the environment and his fellow man. Dixon Golf and their Dixon Challenge exemplify those sentiments,” says Clifton S. Waterbury, III, President of the Mustache Open.
Dixon Golf has been manufacturing the Earth ball, which is the first high performance eco-friendly golf ball, since 2008. Subsequently, they have released the Wind, Fire and Spirit golf balls to much industry acclaim. In an effort to be charitable, Dixon Golf developed the Dixon Challenge to help charities raise addition funds through a fun on-course game.
“We are happy to work with such a unique entity as the Mustache Open. We share in Clifton’s vision that charities can benefit financially through golf,” says Dixon Golf’s CEO William Carey.
The Mustache Open donates to a different charity in each city the tournament is held. In the past, money has been raised for cancer research, underprivileged children and education, just to name a few.
