LAS VEGAS, NV – When viewers tune into The Golf Channel at 8 p.m. on Dec. 10 to watch the Wendy’s 3Tour Challenge they will see what some of the top golf professionals in the world saw as they competed in this unique annual competition: A superbly conditioned golf course at Rio Secco Golf Club.
What they won’t know, however, is that the excellent course condition can be attributed directly to personnel not employed by the golf course. The maintenance of one of the top courses in the Southwest is outsourced to Key Golf Management of Las Vegas.
Key Golf took over the maintenance at Rio Secco nearly three years ago, and put it in pristine condition in time for this annual gathering of some of the world’s top tour professionals: from the PGA Tour, Davis Love III, Nick Watney and Jason Day: from the Champions Tour: Bernhard Langer, Charles Schwab Champion Tom Lehman and Fred Funk: from the LPGA Tour, Natalie Gulbis, Stacey Lewis and Christie Kerr.
Eric Dutt, Vice President of Golf for Caesar’s Entertainment, which owns and operates Rio Secco, was particularly appreciative of Key Golf’s contributions in preparing the course for a world-class event. “Key did a tremendous job of putting our course in professional tournament condition,” said Dutt, whose course had been running a record number of rounds prior to the event. “We weren’t surprised. They have done a tremendous job since we contracted with them to handle our entire course maintenance program, not only at Rio Secco, but also at Cascata. We are very pleased with the partnership.”
