Castle Pines, CO (December 19, 2012) – Based on vibrant holiday sales on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and the Golf Convergence web site, combined with winter semester book orders from leading Professional Golf Management Programs, the first printing of the The Business of Golf – What Are You Thinking? has sold out. As of December 17, 2012, there are 193 copies of the book back-ordered. The book, now in its second printing, will be shipping on January 14, 2013.
According to author James J. Keegan, “We are absolutely elated that the book has now been purchased in 19 countries and is being used as part of the core curriculum of nine colleges and universities, including Clemson’s PGA of America Program, the Golf Academy of America, Keiser University College of Golf, and the University of Wisconsin – Stout. The Canadian Professional Golf Management programs at Holland College and Humber College also use the textbook for their capstone class.”
The 2012 “primer edition” covered the elementary principles of the business of golf. The target audience was golfers, college students, and new entrants into the game of golf, as well as industry professionals seeking a fresh perspective.
In April 2013, a “professional edition” will be released. It will deliver an in-depth analysis of the principles, formulas, and theories that can transform the golfer’s experience by adding value and thereby increase the investment return and fiscal sustainability for golf courses in this challenging business of golf. Golf course owners, general managers, directors of golf, superintendents, and seasoned professionals will gain substantial benefits from the new research conducted and the insights garnered. From protecting intellectual property to properly pricing season passes, a wide gamut of new perspectives is presented.
James J. Keegan, also Managing Principal at Golf Convergence, stated, “In everything we do, we believe in challenging the status quo. We believe in thinking differently. It is our passion and our purpose. The way we challenge the status quo is by creating a vision for you that is easy to understand and simple to execute. We are able to do so by blending extensive research, unparalleled experience, and unique perspectives formed from the examination of more than 4,000 golf courses in 40 countries. We are the “thought leaders” and the “authorities” in the business of golf. We craft goals that are consistently achieved by clients, and our excellence has been acknowledged by Avid Golfer Magazine.
